Rose-Ann
Rose-Ann came to RASTA with Jubilee, both of them having been rescued from a battery cage egg farm.
Consumers aren't told this, but most larger egg farms have multiple barns, and produce different eggs. It's quite common for farms to have free-range, free-run, and battery cage hens all on the same grounds. As such, when people buy eggs of any kind, they're funding all forms - even the cruellest - of farming eggs.
When Rose-Ann and Jubilee arrived, they had been in a barn for their entire lives without natural light, fresh air, or more than a foot of space each to move. They had never stretched their wings or been able to express their natural tendencies in any way.
Since coming to the RASTA, both of these ladies have been able to experience the world as they were meant to, and have stuck together even after integrating with their new extended family here at the sanctuary.
