Rocky is a miniature horse who was surrendered to RASTA in April of 2021.  We don't know his exact back story, but he first arrived at Sanctuary in Richter Manitoba, and then with a lot of help from amazing fiends of ours from The Good Place, The Open Eye Project, and P.E.A.C.E. Everywhere, he travelled the almost 2500kms to his new home here on Vancouver Island! 

Rocky's body shows signs that he has had a difficult life, with evidence of past malnutrition and behaviour that leads us to believe this sweet boy was almost certainly abused.  With time and love, he will heal here at the sanctuary with his new family.
