Garfunkel and his brother Simon were surrendered to the Sanctuary in January of 2016 as an act of mercy.  The two young goats had been neglected for quite some time after their owner had lost interest in them.  When a concerned neighbour confronted the owner about the lack of adequate care they were receiving, the owner stated that he intended to "turn the two troublesome goats into pepperoni".  The neighbour then offered to take the boys off his hands which he fortunately agreed to and they were surrendered to the RASTA Sanctuary later that day.
