Compassion Billboard Campaign

BILLBOARDS AT LAST!!!

It has been a longtime dream of RASTA Sanctuary to be able to install a billboard promoting compassionate living, and at long last that dream has become reality!

We are thrilled to have partnered with the incredible Ms Pamela Anderson – a lifelong animal advocate – to bring this message to the public!

“It is a tremendous honour to have the endorsement of Ms Pamela Anderson which essentially enables our message of compassion for all animals to reach a much larger audience.”

– Lucie Cerny, Founder of RASTA Sanctuary

In Pamela’s words:

“As a life long advocate for animals starting here on Vancouver Island as a little girl .. I am honored to support RASTA – A sanctuary that allows threatened animals live in community and be happy and safe together – I’ve visited many sanctuaries around the world and I was proud to find a sincere sanctuary close to home..
My family loves to visit and volunteer regularly – In times like these we cant forget  that “peace starts on our plate” – and that “pandemics are caused by eating animals”  – slaughterhouses, international animal abuses are dangerous to every species, including humans… “end speciesism”, eat your vegetables, support your local sanctuary    – “animals are our friends, not food”. ”

Featured alongside the superstar are four of the amazing individuals who call RASTA Sanctuary home.  Pirate the Pig – born with a deformed leg and saved by the sanctuary, Ella and Eddie – ex dairy cow and steer, and Zeus the Turkey – long past the age turkeys are allowed to live.  All four of them are amazing ambassadors for animals who are traditionally farmed, and powerful examples of the need for sanctuaries like RASTA.  We hope that their images help compel people to consider their choices, and Support Sanctuaries, not Slaughterhouses!

The static billboard, featuring Pirate, can be seen by motorists traveling southbound on the Patricia Bay Highway on the Saanich Peninsula, and Pirate is joined by two more graphics, one that features Eddie and Ella, and another featuring Zeus, on an electronic display visible southbound on Highway 1 just south of Duncan.

This Campaign has been featured in the media and is creating amazing visibility for the sanctuary as we weather the challenging times of COVID-19.  We hope that it will bring new eyes to the sanctuary, and give individuals a new opportunity to CHOOSE VEGAN!
